Socktastic Pilates Prize Draw

To help you get the most from your feet, particularly when you’re practising Pilates with me online from home, I’m offering a pair of toe socks (size 4-11) and a pair of Sweaty Betty Pilates socks (one size) to the winner of a prize draw.

Clapping for Carers Pilates-Style

The Seal Puppy is an exercise in the Pilates repertoire which involves a clapping action.  Here was my contribution to tonight’s show of appreciation for our carers, NHS staff and other key workers…

Thankfully making a seal noise isn’t part of the exercise.

Sweaty Betty Yoga Retreat clothing range March 2015

Sweaty Betty has just launched a new range of work-out gear for Spring Summer 2015, aimed at those who enjoy yoga and Pilates.  The Yoga Retreat collection consists of vests, jumpsuits/all-in-ones, capris and harem pants, swimwear, shorts, hoodies and sweat tops in a black, white and coral pink colour palette.  It’s a nice addition to their Yoga Looks range, which is also worth checking out.

Recommended Pilates Socks

A number of clients have asked me where they can buy Pilates socks.  With their special rubberised grip soles, Pilates socks are useful when exercising on cold, slippy wooden studio floors.  Here are a few recommendations…

Cheap and cheerful

Fitness Basics Pilates Socks

At £2.89 including postage, Fitness Basics offer a good budget pair of Pilates/Yoga socks.  They are available in a range of colours and in both the five-toe (as shown above) and regular sock design.

Good brand, mid-range price

APPI Pilates Socks

The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) socks are specially designed for Pilates and have the benefit of a seamless toe and a unique reflexology point non-slip sole.  A well-designed sock requiring a bit more of an investment than the budget pair – £7.99 plus £2.95 for postage and packaging.
